About Our Pastor

Reverend Maxine L. Johnson is the Pastor of St. Paul AME Church in Harrington, Delaware, where together they are “Transforming lives through the Word of God.”   Rev. Johnson is recognized as a powerful preacher and believes that God uses her to share His message that is relevant and genuine.   Her mission is to encourage, restore and empower the people in our community so that they can experience healing and wholeness.  She focuses on sharing Jesus' saving power, healing power, restoration power, reviving power and His love. 
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rev.  Johnson  began  her  ministry  at  the church  of  her  youth,  Campbell  AME  Church.    There  she  served  as  an  Usher, Steward, member  of  the  Finance  Commission  and  Ministerial  Staff,  as  well  as Ministry Leader for H.A.S. (Helping A Sister) Women’s Ministry, which she continues today.   Currently, she serves as an instructor in the Delaware Conference Ministerial Institute and a member of the Women in Ministry.
Rev.  Johnson   received   her   Bachelors  of  Science   in   Human Recourses Management in 2003, Masters of Business Administration in 2008 from Rosemont College,  Masters  of  Divinity  at  Payne  Theological  Seminary in  May  of 2013 and graduate of the Samuel Elijah Prophetic College.  She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.   Rev.  Johnson enjoys training for multi sport events such as triathlons and distance running.  She is married to Joseph Johnson, Sr.  and they  are  the  parents  of  five children: Khiry, Mercedes, Jamal, Joseph Jr. and Cierra and two granddaughters, Iyana and A’Zuri.
